Analysis Paralysis

One of the biggest challenges I see newbie internet marketers face is being overwhelmed with choice. There is so many resources to draw upon to learn how to create the dream of internet wealth. There are a lot of opinions out there, some free and others you have to pay to get. The trap though,  that far too many people fall into is lacking focus.

Now of course I do encourage people to continually learn and up skill themselves if they want to stay ahead and be cashing in on the latest trends, however more importantly I encourage people to stay focused on one thing until they have mastered it, or at least reached a level where they are comfortably seeing good results with it.

Yes with all the hype of new guru product launches going off all the time it can be tempting to want to grab the next hot product, that promises to make internet marketing soooo easy where you can virtually do nothing and get rich!

However I can’t help but think of the old childhood story of the Turtle and the Hare. We all know the story, where the slow and steady turtle wins the race, and the overly eager slightly erratic hare ends up losing. Well this is the same in the internet marketing realm. I see people do a lot better online when they listen to advice and work on that idea until they have conquered it.

For example if you are learning to build a SEO based site for affiliate marketing, then stick with it until you are getting the search engine traffic you planned for and the sales are coming in on a regular basis. Then consider stepping things up a gear with PPC or other traffic avenues, or moving onto a new venture altogether.

The sad truth is that a lot of people buy a coaching product and as soon as they face  a challenge with that project or perhaps the product lacked in some way, they are immediately off and on to a new idea and new project and end up with a whole lot of half finished penny less websites!

Still other people grab a new product even if they haven’t faced any challenges but are just so eager to get the latest secrets that they MUST have this new product.

Either way what ends up happening is you will know a lot of stuff ABOUT making money online but lack the actual money itself!!

So my question to you is this: Are you suffering from Analysis Paralysis? If so then take a step back and look at what you know and work on that for now until you master it!

I am not that experienced online yet, about 3 months but I can see what you mean with so many choices of who to listen to. I am focusing on social traffic to start with. Thanks for the free videos too Matt!

I agree. Affiloblueprint is keeping me plenty occupied at the moment, so will stick to this for now…but I must say it is temping to get a new a product as there always seems to be so many new ones, like every few days!
